Frequently Asked Questions

What to expect when working with Door 58—and how to prepare for a smooth recording or live broadcast.

Before Your Live Session

  • Turn on Do Not Disturb. Silence notifications on your recording device and nearby devices. Check that allowed calls and app exceptions will not interrupt you.
  • Light your face. Position a lamp, ring light, or window in front of you. Avoid a bright window behind you.
  • Check your internet. Test from the device and location you will use. Aim for at least 10 Mbps upload; 25 Mbps or higher is recommended for Full HD. A wired Ethernet connection is preferable when available.
  • Prepare your sound and surroundings. Choose a quiet room, use headphones to reduce echo, and test your microphone.
  • Get your device ready. Connect it to power, close unnecessary apps, and position the camera securely at eye level.

Getting Started

What services does Door 58 offer?

We provide logos, thumbnails, lower-third graphics, promotional videos, podcast editing, voice-overs, social media clips, and remote live production support.

Visit our Services & Packages page to compare The Clean Cut, The Promo Cut, The Podcast Cut, Producer Live Support, and the Monthly Podcast Package.

How do I get pricing or book a project?

Complete our project inquiry form with your service needs, project details, and preferred dates. We will discuss the scope and provide a quote.

Sending an inquiry does not reserve a production date or start a paid service. We confirm the scope, price, and schedule with you before work begins.

Do I need my own equipment?

Yes. For remote recording and livestreaming, you provide your own camera, microphone, lighting, device, and internet connection. For editing projects, you provide the footage and other agreed materials.

Door 58 provides the Restream access link for Producer Live Support and monthly live sessions. Equipment rental and on-site filming are not included in these packages.

Recording & Livestream Preparation

Why should I turn on Do Not Disturb?

Calls, messages, and notification sounds can interrupt your session or appear during screen sharing. Enable Do Not Disturb before joining and check for any contacts or apps allowed to bypass it.

Silence nearby phones and smart devices too. If you need internet access, keep your connection enabled rather than switching to airplane mode.

How should I set up my lighting and camera?

Place your main light in front of you, slightly above eye level if possible. A window can work well when you face it. Avoid sitting with a bright window or strong light directly behind you.

Keep the camera stable and near eye level. Choose a tidy background and confirm your framing during your scheduled guest check or rehearsal.

How do I test my internet connection?

Open Speedtest (opens in a new tab) on the device you will use, select the Single connection test if available, and press GO. Let both the download and upload tests finish.

Check the upload result—not just download. Restream recommends at least 10 Mbps upload for guests and 25 Mbps or higher for Full HD. Test near your planned session time and share the results with Door 58 if you are unsure.

Speed alone does not guarantee a stable connection. Use Ethernet where possible. On Wi-Fi, stay close to your router and pause large uploads, downloads, and backups during the session.

How do I join my Restream session?

Open the access link provided by Door 58, allow camera and microphone access, enter your display name, and join the waiting area. Follow the joining time and instructions we send you.

Use an updated browser. Restream recommends Chrome on computers and Android, or Safari on iPhone and iPad. Test your equipment before the scheduled broadcast.

What if my internet or equipment stops working?

Let Door 58 know as soon as possible. We will help troubleshoot and discuss whether the session can continue or needs to be rescheduled.

Connection quality and third-party platform availability are outside our complete control. Any replacement session or related charges follow the terms agreed before booking.

Files, Revisions & Delivery

How do I send footage and project files?

The inquiry form accepts one attachment up to 10 MB. For larger videos or multiple files, paste a Google Drive or Dropbox sharing link into the form.

Make sure Door 58 can view and download the files, or share them directly with door58.com@gmail.com . Keep your original files and include any logos, names, scripts, or instructions needed for the project.

What is the turnaround time?

Projects are delivered within 48 hours after all required footage, assets, and project details are received, unless a different timeline is agreed upon with you.

Live sessions follow the agreed broadcast schedule. Post-broadcast deliverables are timed from the completed session and receipt of required materials. Each monthly episode follows its agreed delivery timeline.

What counts as a revision round?

A revision round is one consolidated list of changes within the agreed project scope. Review your draft and send your feedback together so we can address it efficiently.

Each individual package includes one revision round. The Monthly Podcast Package includes four rounds per month, one per episode. New concepts, added footage, or extra deliverables may require an updated quote and schedule.

Contracts & Cancellation

Do I need to sign a contract?

The Clean Cut, The Promo Cut, The Podcast Cut, and Producer Live Support do not require a separate signed service contract. We still confirm the project scope, quote, and terms with you in writing.

The Monthly Podcast Package requires a signed contract and 30 days’ written notice to cancel.

Can I cancel or reschedule a session?

At least 24 hours’ notice before your scheduled start time is required to cancel or reschedule a podcast recording or live Restream session. New dates are subject to availability.

Email your request to door58.com@gmail.com . Canceling a single session does not cancel a monthly package, which requires 30 days’ written notice.

See our Terms of Service and your accepted project terms for details.
